Technique:  Shibori (Board Clamped – Triangle Fold)

Materials: Cotton broadcloth, two triangles of wood and C - clamp
Spacing/Size: Wooden blocks: 2.5” right triangle (0.5” thick); Cloth: 10” x 36”
Folding Methods: Hand-folded into triangles
Anchoring methods: Secured with clamp between wooden blocks

• Dye: 2 tbsp. MX Navy and 3% stock solution per 1 qt. of water 
 
Advantages:
• Somewhat crisp lines illustrating the folding patterns
 
Disadvantages:
• Cannot completely control the result as the dye flows/penetrates fabric unevenly

• Layers of dyeing – fold another pattern and dye a new color (memory of many folds
• Many possibilities for pattern exploration
